eaST BURWOOD RESERVE CLUBROOM/CRICKET NETS UPGRADE
our $9,500,000 clubroom upgrade
A New Era at the Woods
The future of the Woods is enormous, with a transformative $9.5 million pavilion redevelopment scheduled for completion in April 2027. The brand new facility will service both the North and South Ovals, completely changing the way game days operate at East Burwood Reserve. For years, the North Ground lacked convincing match day facilities, but that will soon change with spacious player changerooms and dedicated umpire rooms sitting right at its doorstep. Meanwhile, the South Ground will feature upgraded changerooms, a modern canteen and an incredible second floor balcony that spans the entire length of the pavilion, creating one of the best viewing and social spaces in local cricket.
Building a Destination Club
Upstairs will feature a brand new kitchen and bar, multiple meeting rooms, dedicated spectator and scoring rooms overlooking both ovals, and enormous storage capacity with five large storage rooms to support both the cricket and football clubs. The redevelopment will also incorporate facilities for the local cycling club, including storage and a dedicated training space, further strengthening the reserve as a true multi sport community hub. Beyond game day, the pavilion is expected to host council functions, football and cricket association meetings and major events across the eastern suburbs. Combined with our cricket net redevelopment, East Burwood is rapidly becoming one of the premier sporting destinations in Melbourne. The scale of the facility, the quality of the infrastructure and the opportunity it creates for our club is genuinely exciting, and we know the impact it will have as we continue building the Woods into a true destination club.
our $600,000 Cricket Net Upgrade
The future at the Woods is incredibly exciting, with a major $600,000 cricket net upgrade set to complement our upcoming pavilion redevelopment ahead of next season. The project will deliver five fully enclosed training lanes featuring retractable netting, lighting and power, creating a state-of-the-art training environment for the club. While the facility may also support the netball club throughout winter, the impact on our cricket club will be enormous!! Particularly for our up-and-coming senior players, who will now be able to train in elite conditions regardless of weather or lighting. Combined with the pavilion redevelopment, these upgrades will help transform East Burwood into a genuine destination club with some of the strongest facilities in community cricket.
